Rain and wind from Hurricane Matthew

Hurricane Matthew Update for October 8, 2016

Manteo, NC – “Incredible rain maker over North Carolina” is what I just heard on The Weather Channel about Hurricane Matthew.

In Manteo, we have been fortunate, so far. It’s raining hard with lots of wind, but the power and the internet are still working. Many people, across several states, aren’t so lucky. I’ve seen pictures of heavy flooding in Fayetteville, NC, and my dad who lives in the Goldsboro area received over 15″ of rain and lost power around 7:00 pm.

It’s around 10:00 pm now, and the Doppler radar is showing the storm approaching the Outer Banks, so keep us in your thoughts as we brace for Matthew’s impacts.
